With so many small businesses failing to survive the first year why should a <a href="http://geordie-coach.com"title="coaching" >coaching practice or consultancy be any different? Few businesses survive the first year and coaching practices are no different, with hundreds if not thousands of coaches qualifying each month is there really a demand for their services?

Where many coaches fail is through a lack of understanding on how to effectively market their practice. Too many new coaches spend vast amounts of time getting their business branding just right, creating a polished website, ordering smart business cards they dont want to part with. But is that what your clients care about? I would say not, you clients want to know if you deliver results and if you are worth what they will be paying.

Let prospects know what services you offer, how you will work with them and what results they can expect. Oh, and if you dont have a business coach, get one. Your coaching clients will expect you to walk your talk!!!

Are you insightful? Do you enjoy communicating with others? If you have the heart, the enthusiasm, and the passion to be of service then <a href="http://newcastle-life-coach.co.uk"target="_self"rel="external"title="" >life coaching is a good profession to consider. First things first though, you have to get proper training.

Why Become A Life Coach

Life <a href="http://geordie-coach.com"title="coaching" >coaching is very rewarding, both in a financial and emotional sense. Facilitating someone to grow, develop and succeed in life is a triumph that many share wth their life coach. As their life coach you become part of your client’s lifes journey, helping them reach peak success and goal achievement. If you are a great life coach you can earn really great money. A busy life coach can have a steady stream of clients and a steady <a href="http://6456ex0lub0djp3l2ln7xpqjdu.hop.clickbank.net/"title="" >income.

Life coaching may sound easy, but it is not for everybody. As a life coach you may get caught up in your client’s journey, however it is important to remember you are there to facilitate the clients journey and not become part of it. The most all-important quality a life coach must have is the ability to listen and empathise. Sympathizing is feeling for the client, empathising is putting your self in those clients’ shoes. By sympathising you are able to visualize a client’s life and reflect it to him so he sees how he is like, similar to looking into the mirror. The key to being a successful life coach is being able to listen without planning the rebuttal in your head.

Another required skill is the ability to control any urge to give advice. A life coach does not tell the client what to do. As a coach I help my clients realise what they are looking for. The basis of life coaching is facilitating to client to internalise and realize their potentials, wants, desires, and goals.

Life coaches should be eager to help, and from this eagerness arises the desire to be trained. A life coach’s job is critical. You have to be able to recognize who needs encouragement and who has a serious problem. Life coaching is highly criticized because a lot of people claim as experts without proper training. Do not be one of those people. Get proper education and training.

Training can be through your local community college’s offer courses, university and specialist coaching training providers. You should also regularly attend additional training and seminars to expand your knowledge and awareness of issues which effect your prospects. It will also assist life coaches if they undertake some psychology studies and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) training.

It helps both you and your clients with the foundation upon which they can build a successful and satisfying life – both personally and professionally.

FIRST, WORK ON YOUR OWN VISION

Without a clear vision of what you want to do, where you want to go, or what you will do when you get to goal, success will be much more difficult – even impossible – to achieve.. How can you know what to do – what actions to take – if you don’t know where you’re going?

Not having a vision is like sailing without a destination. You end up on the Sea of Destiny without a port, wandering the ocean aimlessly, getting blown in whatever direction the wind is headed. When a challenging storm bears down, the gale-force winds will likely capsize your latest plans immediately. You’ll end up looking like you were aboard the Ship of Fools.

Having a clear vision and mission is what gives you that destination. Even though gale-force challenges may temporarily capsize your progress, you’ll more easily be able to get back on course and reach your objectives.

Contrary to what many people think, visions do not usually magically appear. They can take time – requiring introspection, self-analysis, and journaling. It also helps to review your past successes and – just as important – your past disappointments and failures. Draw on your dream, talents and desire. Observe your calling to be a coach.

The first place to look when developing your vision is within – to that deeper inner self. You can draw upon your talent, dreams and desires, or whatever other avenues help you uncover those nuggets that will become your navigational beacons in life.

Unfortunately, there are usually no shortcuts in creating your vision. You can’t just “make it up”; it takes WORK. But the rewards for doing this work can save you years – even a lifetime – of frustration by enabling you and your clients to live the life one is destined for.

SEVEN SECRETS TO HELP DEVELOP YOUR VISION

Secret 1: Listen and Look Within

Since vision starts within, it makes sense to listen and feel what your mind and soul really want. What stirs your heart? What is your greatest desire? What do you dream about?
Bottom line: Make sure your vision comes from within. If what you want to pursue does not truly come your inner depths, it will likely be impossible to achieve.

Secret 2: Seek the Help of Others; Make It a Team Sport
We do not live in a bubble. Create a team if you can, a team that you can call upon should you need to. Heed the advice of a person who has more experiences in you – especially in coaching. Find a coach who works on vision and goal setting. Seek help from friends who know you well. They can help you confirm or question your own observations and provide a reality check.

Creating a MasterMind Group of 4-6 people also working on their vision can be extremely powerful. Use weekly or semi-weekly calls to support each other and keep the momentum going.

Asking and using others for guidance not only helps you with your own vision; it also puts you on the receiving end of help. This experience will in turn help you when you become the coach helping others with their vision. You’ll have done the proverbial “walk in their shoes”.

Secret 3: Create a Sacred, Inner Space to Go Deeper

The vision you create for your practice begins in your mind and heart. It is something you can feel, taste, see, hear and touch with your soul.

Creating a supportive, inner environment is a powerful way to aid you in developing your vision. To access the inner depths of your mind and heart, find a way to retreat to a serene and tranquil place where your mind is free of the “outer noise”.

In this sacred space, your heart, mind, and soul can more easily access what might be called Source. What you can find there is your most Authentic Self. Tap into this successfully, and your vision is likely to spring forth easily.

Though your mind may resist with every fiber of its being, try surrender into this emptiness. Check your brain out at the door. “You already are that which you seek.” You will find it much easier to uncover that if you are relaxed and can get your mind out of the way.

Secret 4: Ask (the Right) Questions

Ask the questions that provoke and encourage answers to the deeper questions. Examples include:

•	What is the single most important thing my practice needs to go to the next level and further help my customers best?
•	What are the three most important actions I need to take in order to increase my sales or <a href="http://6456ex0lub0djp3l2ln7xpqjdu.hop.clickbank.net/"title="" >income?
•	What are the three most important changes I need to make in order to help me and/or my clients accomplish my/their objectives?
•	What is the single biggest challenge that – if resolved – would most help me or my clients.

Secret 5: Identity the Problems Holding You Back

Sometimes we’re just plain stuck. What about you? Where are your points of “stuck-ed-ness”? Discussing it with others – especially your coach and MasterMind team – is a powerful way to uncover the detours around or through the roadblocks holding you back from developing your vision.

There are times when we must first clear the rocks off the trail before we can continue on our path of self-discovery. Moving these out of the way helps unblock the energy flow, enabling us to more easily tap into the Source for answers.

Secret 6: Take Action and “Go For It!”

Nothing happens without action. Once you have come up with a Vision that seems to fit well, ACT ON IT. It might not be perfect, but if it’s “good enough”, then get going! You can always “course correct”.

Don’t get bogged down in thinking about HOW you’re going to get there. Momentum is a powerful force, perhaps THE most important force when you’re first embarking for your Vision.

A sailor on a long voyage can never know for sure the exact course they will take to their destination. He/she will need to constantly make corrections for winds, current, and unforeseen challenges along the route. In the same way, you can tweak and adapt your own journey.

Secret 7: K.I.S.S. (Keep It Short & Simple)

Once you have a pretty good idea of your vision, simplify it. Keep honing it down and find ways to bring more clarity. Be brutal; in fact go for what is sometimes call “brutal clarity of purpose”.

There is a nice analogy between a vision and a powerful photo. A very successful studio photographer was asked how he consistently came up with powerful photos. He responded, “Once I’ve got all the elements in the photo that I think I need, I start taking away from it. If I remove or simplify an element or item and it helps, I keep the change. I continue this process with everything I can until it hurts the overall image. That’s when I know I’ve got my image.”

The lesson: try simplifying or removing extraneous parts of your vision. Ask yourself, “Does it help – or hinder? If it helps, keep the change. If it doesn’t, put it back. Continue with this process until you have the best picture you can.

CONCLUSION
Developing a Vision and acting on it is one of the most essential steps to creating a successful coaching practice. It is also one of the most powerful services you can offer your clients in helping them manifest their fullest potential.

Try these 7 Secrets to help you do this. If something works for you, use it! If it doesn’t, discard it. We all have our own best ways of finding and developing our Vision. What matters most is that you do it, then act on it.

Five Keys to a Successful Online Coaching Launch: Online Coaching Training to Maximize Your Results

Launching a successful online coaching program is very similar to launching any other event. A few weeks before tickets go on sale for a concert or movie, there’s big a media buzz. Excitement builds up to the big day, and creating interest. With just a little online coaching training, you can learn what it takes to get the most from your efforts and maximize enrollments.

Maximize Your Online Coaching Training By Following These Simple Tips

Online Coaching Training Tip #1: Launches are the best way to sell a group coaching program or any other online coaching program when all participants need to start at the same time. Most effective group coaching programs have a start date and end date. Sure you might want to enroll people into coaching and keep them involved indefinitely, but it’s good to at least have a place where people can opt out and have a sense of closure. Even when people leave, they will give you testimonials or referrals. It’s not the goal to keep clients forever, and it will be easier for them to commit to a definite period of time.

Online Coaching Training Tip #2: Use surveys to translate the value. There is a difference between what you clients need and what they want. What they want is what they’re willing to spend money on. You can use Surveymonkey.com or other online surveys. Find out what they want and don’t want in terms of online coaching programs. Discover their fears, hopes, desires, and aspirations. During the process of helping your clients make a decision, don’t harp on the needs part. Sell them what they want, not what they need. Of course you’ll need to provide the needs for them during the program so they can get the result, but that’s not what will get them to enroll.

Online Coaching Training Tip #3: Use exclusivity to attract people to your online coaching program. Let them know that what you have to offer is rare. Just like an exclusive nightclub, only a certain number of people or certain types of people will qualify to get into the group. This is the fascination with the red carpet and velvet rope in front of a club or event. Those who get past the velvet rope feel special. The U.S. Marines use the same strategy to get new recruits. “The few, the proud, the Marines.” How else do they get people to commit to such a dangerous job? They make it so tough to pass basic training, that anyone who remains has truly accomplished something.

Online Coaching Training Tip #4: Use the cost as an incentive. Let people know that you’re offering your online coaching program for $100, but next time you offer the program the rate will increase to $200. Or offer a limited number of scholarships and have people apply. You don’t have to sell those scholarships; people will sell you on why you should let them enroll.

Online Coaching Training Tip #5: Build credibility over multiple programs. There are a lot of people who will create an online coaching program and run it once. There may only be a few people in your first program, but the second time you’ll have a little more credibility. You should also have testimonials. You have to think long term to create success that lasts. Not only can you increase your rate the second time around, but those who were on the fence the first time around may now have the confidence in you to enroll.

Depending on where you are coming from when starting your business, you may be completely new to the idea of hiring other people to do the work for you. You may feel it’s unnecessary to do this when your <a href="http://adfb1-rvxm2dds9pn8s0t3mlig.hop.clickbank.net/"title="" >cash flow isn’t stable yet, or you may feel strange about outsourcing the work you can actually do yourself.

This is a typical do-it-yourself business owner mentality: this is my own business, so I am going to do everything myself. The problem becomes visible when you want to grow, or grow faster – it’s absolutely impossible to achieve significant growth without bringing other people on board! But how do you overcome the hurdle of being self-employed and having a do-it-yourself mentality?

If you’ve never hired anyone and don’t know where to look, I highly recommend my How to Find, Hire & Work with Your First Virtual Assistant toolkit. For now, here are my 3 favorite questions I like to ask coaches:

1. “What do you do?”

I mean, what do you really do? When asked this question, you don’t answer by saying “I submit <a href="http://18d00vws7e-hdjgbmm1jndcocg.hop.clickbank.net/"title="" >articles” or “I work on my blog”. You usually tell people what problem you help solve. So why would you want to “pollute” your business day with all the other stuff, when you can be doing exactly that – generating revenue by helping your clients and customers solve a specific problem?

2. “What are my top 3-5 profitable activities?”

I bet you’re not going to say “emailing people” or “setting up my shopping cart,” unless that’s what you actually do for clients. There’s got to be 3-5 things you do that lead you to profits. For me it’s e-mail marketing, creating products, and holding virtual and live events. And if you’ve been around me long enough, you know that these are the top 3 things I usually occupy myself with. (<a href="http://geordie-coach.com"title="coaching" >Coaching is not on the list because it’s a small part of what I actually do in my business)

3. “What is my minimum acceptable hourly rate?”

You may not quote this rate to clients, but there is a number in your mind that you feel good about. Perhaps its $75 for every hour you work. For some it might be at least $200 an hour. As you go through your day, ask yourself if what you’re doing can be done by someone else who’ll charge much less than your hourly rate. For example, updating your web site may cost you $5-$15 an hour. Submitting articles might cost around $3-$5 an hour. Should you be really dealing with these things yourself?

In other words, get real – you can spend the next five years tweaking your blog, looking for linking partners, and printing workbooks. Will it get you to where you want to be in five years?

Some food for thought.

So I am reprinting all of these ideas here and hope you find them useful.

Getting people to sign up for your coaching programs is the only way to generate sales for your offerings. You can do this through these 4 methods:

1. Offer free product sample. When you promote your coaching programs online, you will surely see this question written all over your prospects’ face “What’s in it for me?” You can take all the time that you need in telling these people the content of your coaching programs but you will still not be able to convince them. As they say, “action speaks louder than words” — so instead of telling them, show them what you’ve got by giving them free product sample. If you have already launched email coaching programs, you can send some of these emails to your potential clients so they can gauge how much you know about your chosen <a href="http://1e50d1tsx94him66p3n35n7yce.hop.clickbank.net/"title="" >niche and how can you help them in reaching their goals.

2. Promote repeat business. Aside from attracting new clients, you will also be able to multiply your coaching sales if you get your previous customers to come back for more. Now, what can you possibly do to convince these people to do repeat business with you? Well, you can offer them with freebies and discounts or give them access to member-only site. When these people see that you truly value the business that they are giving you, I am sure that they will come back over and over again.

3. Increase your prices. Believe it or not, this is one of the best ways to multiply the number of your sales. Do you ever wonder why you buy Mac Computers for as much as $2,500 when you can get a much cheaper counterpart? Well, most of us think that products with huge tag prices are the best in the market. Take advantage of this by increasing your prices. Just make sure that you strive to offer your clients great value for their money.

4. Advertise your coaching programs. Obviously, this is one element that you cannot afford to take on the back seat if you want to improve your coaching sales. Identify the internet tools that can help you connect with your potential clients and know how they work. Use them all to aggressively promote your offerings online. I personally recommend article marketing and ezine publishing as they are not only cost-effective; they are also very efficient and easy to use.

Do you ever wonder why other marketers are selling hundreds of coaching programs while others are struggling to make a single sale? Well, the difference usually lies on the effectiveness of marketing tactics that they are using. Successful marketers are usually launching a well-planned marketing campaign before they even promote their coaching programs online. As a result, they know ahead of time what marketing tools to use that can help them connect with their target market and they develop mechanism on how they can adjust their strategies should they not meet their desired goal in a specific period of time.

Do you want to become one of them? Then, let me share with you the methods that they are using in selling their coaching programs online:

1. Know what marketing tools to use. When choosing the best tools to use, it would be best if you determine the preferences and online behavior of your target market first. If they are forum fanatics, you’ll surely be able to connect with them through forum posting. If they simply love blogs, you can blog about your coaching programs and promote your products without losing a single dime. By doing so, you can make your marketing strategies very effective and highly targeted.

2. Situation analysis. As they say, you’ll never get to where you want to go if you don’t know where you are coming from. When designing your marketing campaign, write down your weaknesses, strengths, threats, and opportunities. You can also write down your goals (both short term and long term) and how you plan to achieve them. You can use this a couple of months after you launch your advertising campaign to review how far you were able to go.

3. Help your prospects. One of the most important things that you need to do when doing business online is to earn the trust of your target market. You’ve got to make these people believe that doing business with you means doing themselves a favor. Start by helping them out in resolving their pressing issues and providing answers to their most burning questions through article marketing or by hosting teleseminars. Then, show them that you are truly concern over their welfare and that you are really interested in helping them out. This is the best way to convince these people to take advantage of your offerings in no time.
