Advertising is critical in business and to keep the identify of your staff to customers rather than shell out for uniforms if your business is small then how about considering company badges, ties, tie pins and other cost effective items? There is nothing worse than being in a store or at an event and not being able to work out who is and isnt a representative of the company.
When the advertising budget is tight, a badge for your respresentatives can be used for a myriad of purposes such as advertising specials and for identification of whose who. Consider using something with your business name on, the representatives position and a personal touch by adding their name will break down barriers with potential clients.
Use your staff / representatives to build trust with your clients, if you have a promotion get them to mention it NOT push it. Make sure they listen to the prospects needs before recommending something whether you serve a five star cuisine or mom and pop specialties, clients will appreciate your business more if you recommend things they need in their budget and not just blanket promote anything to them.
Buttons and badges are a really inexpensive way of advertising your specials and increasing your sales.
Do you have a unique or unusual theme to your business? Why not sell souvenir items with your business logo on? Perhaps there are things you can give away that will interest your target market? If so, always ensure you have your logo and website address on or you could be losing out on future business.
If you are in a travel location, such as where I am in Newcastle upon Tyne, use images of the area’s landmarks and put your business name on it – keyrings, postcards, pens are also great souvenirs. If the quality is good they are less likely to end up in a bin somewhere on the way home.
You could sell small items really cheap and still generate a handsome profit. Remember that introducing someone to your company at a low cost product /service could also have huge long term rewards. Consider it a sample of your business if they like what they see hopefully they will be back again and be willing to spend more next time.
Having promotional items with your logo and website address on them are great for sponsored events as well. Does your business support a local youth sports team or charity? Let people know who you sponsor and to give out promotional items at their events or to players if a sport or volunteers for a charity is a great way to get the word out that you are involved in the community.
Give away Tshirts to family members and friends with your logo and web address on. You can pick these up cheap enough from places like Vistaprint who have a range of promotional materials and free / low cost. Let your propects know that your business inspires youth activities, supports animal rescue, sponsors local footballs, engages local schools or whatever it is.
Why not donate a ‘Trophy Cup’ and small financial reward to a local school / college / charity in the name of your business? Get some newspaper coverage and great free publicity will come your way and hopefully this revenue would far exceed your outlay. People love to see what businesses are supporting the local community and willling to help others. These are just some of the ideas of getting your logo and business name out in the public.
Would you like to reward your frequent repeat customers? Something to say “Thank You for Your Business” can be a great way to say thanks and will get the word outthat you appreciate your guests. Event better put a discount on thank you note and you may get the client back or if transferable new clients.
If you have regulars who visit often, give them a button for five or ten percent off another product or services for recommending new clients to you. This is an inexpensive way to promote your business to people that your paid advertising / marketing does not reach.

In business advertising is critical. There are many ways to use promotional items to get your business message across. When your advertising budget is tight, promotional itens can be a great cost effective resourse.
